Who We Are
Founder & Owner
Stacey Lamar
Dr. Stacey Lamar has worked in healthcare for thirty years. She earned a Master’s Degree in Nursing from New York University in 2000 and a Doctorate in Public Health from New York Medical College in 2014. Her first healthcare position was caring for Alzheimer's patients as a nursing assistant. It was during this time that she witnessed the devastation of this disease process and the complex challenges families experience.
In 2009 her Grandmother, Elizabeth, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. A few years later her Father-in-law, Stasiu. Despite current medical treatments, the diseases progressed and the time came when neither could be unsupervised.
The same challenges other families faced were now part of her family’s world. Unconditional love and concern for a family member was being deliberated against the need to work or risk loss of family income. No community options were available. Several years of turmoil followed.
Sadie’s Place NY carries the loving memories of Elizabeth and Stasiu forward when working with families that share a similar story.
